Getting In This Blog
Do you have the “perfect product or service” for seniors, families, teens or caregivers?
Are you looking to use Web 2.0 to get the word out about it?
Welcome!
This page has the information you need to get mentioned in 3GenFamily Blog.
Back in 1999 when I was participating in a local university’s e-commerce management program, we (students and instructors) would have passionate arguments about whether the “old business rules” applied to “new economy companies.” Nine years later we know that the “old rules” do indeed apply–only the forms of the business have changed. So generally speaking, I am looking for the same things that journalists have needed all along.
Here are the most frequently asked questions and answers:
Q) How do I send you email/information about my latest product?
A) You can use the comment form on the Contact page to send me a brief description of your product or service.
Q) What kinds of products and services are you interested in?
A) 3GenFamily Blog covers a wide range of topics: caregiving for an elderly family member, raising teens, balancing work, caregiving and life, family health and family finances in the USA. So, I’m interested in hearing about any legitimate product or service dealing with those topics.
Q) Do you have any requirements or restrictions?
A) Yes.
1) I personally check out every business website. I look first for contact information. My readers need to know you are a real business that they can contact. Do you have an address (PO boxes don’t count), a phone number and an email with your company domain
(not your_name(at)gmail/yahoo/hotmail.etc) clearly indicated on your website? If not, I can’t recommend you. Are you hiding the real owner of the business by using Domains by Proxy or other such company? Then, I can’t recommend you.
2) Are you an affiliate of a company? I’d prefer to hear directly from a company rather than an affiliate. In case you didn’t know, I use a spam filter for Wordpress. It is a waste of time putting in a post with links about credit cards or meds or porn. They get eliminated right away.
3) Have you been hired by a company to post comments about a product? I look at the IP address of each comment. I write for US/Canadian caregivers. If your email came from India, but doesn’t make sense in the context of the blogpost, I’ll remove the comment. Often, I’ll write to the poster. Legitimate posters respond back. Bogus ones don’t. So, it is easy to know which comments are real. Repeat offenders are blacklisted.
Q) Can I send you a sample?
A) Yes. I’ll look at e-books and excerpts of print books. I would be happy to try your website service and give you my honest opinion. If you have a physical product, send me a query to see if it would be a good match for 3GenFamily before shipping any item.
Q) Do you sell items on this website?
A) Yes. We promote items on this website.
Q) Is there a fee to have you write a post about our product?
A) No I don’t take a fee for writing about a product or service on 3GenFamily Blog. If I think you have something valuable for my readers, I write about it.
Q) Would you give me your opinion about my website?
A) Because of my extensive background in marketing and websites, people often ask me for my opinion about a new website they want to launch. I am sorry that I can no longer do website/marketing reviews for free. I would be happy to consult with you for a fee. Contact me for details.
Q) Can I use your articles on my website?
A) You can link to my posts. If you want to reproduce any post, please contact me for permission first. Use the Contact page to request it. Please give me the URL to the web site where you will be copying my article.
Q) Do you write content for other websites?
A) Yes. If you need a custom blog post, article, case study, white paper or any other kind of content for your website or marketing efforts, please contact me.
Best Regards,
CK Wilde
